The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence is a global leader in employing acquisition strategies that apply PBL principles with industry partners, and has worked extensively with VT Group. Examples of this partnership approach in action include the following:

• In partnership with the Royal Air Force, VT Group provides aviation maintenance and logistics for light aircraft flight training, guaranteeing aircraft availability for 50,000 flying hours per year; for over 100 aircraft on 12 bases, all owned, maintained and guaranteed available by VT; and all with turnkey service and an arrangement to provide the training at the cost of 35,000 hours of flight training
• VT Group also provides availability risk management and "Through-life" support for basic fast jet training, guaranteeing 13,000 flying hours per year on customer-owned assets to ensure military pilots achieve their training objectives
• VT Group delivers system availability and required service quality through Public Private Partnership (PPP) contracts covering a range of systems including strategic high frequency communications services to the armed services
