Waste to Energy

As landfill costs continue to rise and communities focus on adopting more sustainable waste management practices, VT Group is working in close partnership with municipal governments to deliver innovate waste-to-energy solutions. Delivered either as a managed, turnkey operation or as a service arrangement, VT Group designs, builds and operates waste-to-energy facilities that collect refuse from communities, convert it to energy and then return it directly to the grid in return for revenue. VT Group is leading the drive towards processing waste, rather than sending it to landfill, as a potential source of alternative energy.

The Opportunity of a Generation

The United States is in the early stages of an energy revolution, applying both new and mature technologies to completely overhaul how the nation produces and consumes energy. VT Group is already working hand-in-hand with government leaders around the globe to tackle similar challenges including a European Union (EU) Landfill Directive stipulating that local authorities must reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill from 2010 or face serious fines.

VT Group is a partner of choice for complex and sizable alternative energy programs owing to it’s:

  • Project management expertise
  • Private Finance Initiative (PFI) experience
  • Engineering and systems integration experience
  • Proven ability to partner with government
