Real-time Global Distribution and Stock
Management
Without proper packaging, preservation and care, these supplies
may not be usable when issued. To safeguard this materiel,
there must be a continuous and effective surveillance program to
ensure the most cost-effective and logical application of resources
to care for this materiel. It is imperative to maintain these
serviceable stocks in a ready-for-issue condition and to prevent
deterioration. To accomplish these tasks, VT Group, in
partnership with the government, has established comprehensive
programs requiring constant oversight by Stock Readiness (SR)
Program Coordinators.
Our SR coordinators were assigned to 31 Directorate of Logistics
(DOL) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) storage facilities across
the U.S. to ensure:
-
All stored materials are properly identified, classified,
packaged and stored.
-
Procedures are established to ensured first-in/first-out and
shelf life expiration and practices followed.
-
Goals are established to increase serviceability and operational
readiness of equipment; reduce repair times, costs and packaging
costs; protect and preserve assets; and reduce shipping
discrepancies.
Our experts identified more than $460M worth of items that were
packaged and/or stored incorrectly, damaged or misidentified.
Immediate action was taken to correct these discrepancies
