John Hassoun

Chief Executive Officer and President

John has more than 25 years’ experience in the government services sector with roles in executive leadership, corporate strategy, business development, business operations, and program management. After a successful career as a program manager for the U.S. Air Force, John served in executive leadership roles at publicly-held General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), Veridian (NYSE: VNX), and served as co-CEO of ATS Corporation (NYSE: ATSC) until its acquisition by SalientCRGT. John’s extensive executive leadership experience also includes chief executive positions that he held internationally with Global Integrated Security and Olive Group North America LLC.

John Hassoun serves as VT Group’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President. In this role, John reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for overall VT Group executive management and corporate strategy.

Prior to joining VT Group, John was President and CEO of Vistronix Intelligence and Technology Solutions, where he was responsible for the significant growth of the company in the Intelligence and National Security markets, leading to its acquisition by ASRC Federal in 2016.

John currently also serves as a board director of GardaWorld Federal Services and GardaWorld Government Services. Both companies are leading providers of worldwide comprehensive security and risk management services.

Sunil Ramchand

Chief Growth Officer

Sunil Ramchand serves as VT Group’s President and Chief Growth Officer, and a member of its Board of Directors. Ramchand is responsible for the strategic growth of the VT Group enterprise, to include both corporate and business development.

Sunil is the former Chief Executive Officer of Mission Essential, a company he led from 2015 to 2018 and transformed into the global language and cultural advisory services leader, a trusted analytic and operational partner to the Intelligence Community, and an industry-leading provider of ISR information management solutions.

Prior to joining Mission Essential in 2009, Sunil held both military and civilian leadership positions at the White House during the Administrations of Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama. He is a military veteran and seasoned Defense executive with policy, strategy, and acquisition experience. Sunil served as an active duty naval surface warfare officer and later as a Defense Department civilian. He holds degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy and Harvard University, and is a Board member of the Navy League of the United States.

Alicia R. Townes

Chief Financial Officer

Alicia R. Townes is Sr. Vice President and CFO at VT Group. She oversees the accounting and finance functions for the company. She has held finance and accounting senior leadership positions at several government contracting companies, including Vistronix Intelligence and Technology Solutions, Sotera Defense Solutions, General Dynamics Information Technology, Vangent, and Deltek. Her wealth of experience in the government contracting market helps VT Group integrate the finance and accounting capabilities to better support operations, customers, and the organization’s strategic growth.

Alicia joins an Executive Leadership team with years of expertise and knowledge of the industry. The team focuses their attention on the organization’s strategic growth and development. Alicia received her degree in Accounting from George Mason University School of Business in Fairfax, VA.

Ted Timberlake

Chief Legal Officer

Ted Timberlake, Chief Legal Officer, is an experienced transactions, corporate, operations, government contracting, and compliance attorney. Ted leads the Legal, Contracts, Risk Management Insurance, and Industrial Security departments. Ted previously served as General Counsel of Vistronix Intelligence and Technology Solutions and Global Integrated Security (USA) and worked in the legal departments of General Dynamics and Veridian.

In collaboration with other key executives, Ted successfully planned and executed several complex strategic financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and post-acquisition integrations while he was with Vistronix, including the acquisitions of six technology companies and the sale of the company to ASRC Federal in 2016. Ted received his juris doctor degree magna cum laude from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. He is admitted to the Virginia State Bar and the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Elizabeth Alston

Chief Human Resources Officer

Elizabeth “Liz” Alston serves as VT Group’s Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer and leads the Human Resources (HR) Team. Liz comes to the organization with more than 23 years of HR experience in the government contracting industry for small, mid-tier, and large corporate organizations.

Prior to joining VT Group, Liz had an illustrious career at Vistronix and ASRC Federal, where she oversaw HR teams that supported upwards of over 1,500 employees in diverse locations worldwide. She played a key role for both organizations, ensuring that corporate culture and a focus on people and performance remained central throughout all merger and acquisition activities. Liz was able to implement corporate policies and benefit programs to sustain HR activities for field operations throughout tremendous growth periods. Liz holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Justice from American University.

Bobby Barts

Chief Information Officer

Bobby Barts is VT Group’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, Bobby is responsible for the organization’s information technology systems and processes. As a results-oriented technology leader, he manages complex IT solution designs including cloud-based architecture and applications. Bobby has leveraged more than 25 years of expertise to drive technical innovation by creating customer-focused flexible IT platforms to accommodate rapid organizational growth.

Prior to joining VT Group, he served as Vice President Technical Solutions at ASRC Federal, where he established a platform of IT innovation, and customer service focused solutions for the organization. Preceding the acquisition of Vistronix by ASRC Federal, Bobby was the Senior Vice President of Technical Services and administered the overall policies and goals for the IT and facilities departments. In addition, Bobby managed multi-million-dollar projects for Federal Government customers including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Transportation (DoT), Department of Defense (DoD), National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), General Services Administration (GSA), and United States Forest Service (USFS). Through his academic and professional experience, Bobby has developed core competencies in solution architecture and implementation; policy development and cyber security; software development lifecycle; and networking and telecommunications.

THOMAS LYDON

President, Aviation Solutions Division

Thomas Lydon serves as President, Aviation Solutions Division. Lydon has more than 30 years of experience in the execution, development, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) of business within the defense, aeronautics, space, and information technology sectors. He is a skilled government contracting executive with experience executing, developing, planning, and acquiring business within the defense, aeronautics, space, cyber, and information technology sectors.

In his past experience, Lydon served as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategy at Sabre Systems, Inc. where he was responsible for overall strategy, growth, and business operations. In addition, Lydon worked to implement the company’s 2020 vision leveraging his key software and cyber expertise. Previously, Lydon served as Corporate Senior Vice President at Visitronix where he leveraged his past experiences to develop a complete business development program while supporting the acquisition of six companies over a four-year time period.

Lydon started his career with the U.S. Navy as an E-2C radar operator for the Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW-126), and supported airborne early warning, air intercept, strike, surveillance, and other missions from the E 2C in both exercise and real-world tactical scenarios. He attended the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, MD.

Bob deane

Chief Operating Officer

Bob Deane, Chief Operating Officer, leads our enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure, facilities, project quality, and program management.

Bob’s responsibilities include oversight and management of the company’s C4ISR operations including business development activities, P&L, budgets, operational performance, and strategic goals. Bob’s 30 years of experience encompasses all aspects of Operations, Program and Project Management, C4ISR, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Development and Infrastructure. Bob has comprehensive and diversified experience in business operations, technical communications, engineering, telecommunication systems, information technology, project management and customer service. Prior to joining VT Group, he held the titles of COO, CIO and Senior VP of Business Development with various Department of Defense contractors. He has extensive experience in quality management systems to include ISO 9001, ITIL and CMMI. He served as executive sponsor for CMMI and multiple ISO 9001 re-certifications.

Ryan Reed

President, Maritime Solutions Division

Ryan Reed is the President of VT Group’s Maritime Solutions Division. In this role, Ryan oversees the execution of programs for the U.S. Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy and Army. He joined VT Group in 2017 as the Director, East Coast Operations, where he oversaw fleet technical and engineering support services for Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) projects onboard U.S. Navy ships and submarines.

Prior to joining VT Group, Ryan served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer and engineering duty officer. Ryan earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University and a master’s degree in business administration from The Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. In addition, he is a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified and a Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB).

William Powell

President, Information Systems and Technology Division

Bill Powell serves as President of the Information Systems and Technology Division. He is a seasoned business development professional with more than 28 years of experience in the Operations for Design and installation of Voice, Data, Video, and Security systems. In addition, he has experience in managing Operational Divisions overseeing Operations of design/build information technology systems. In his career, Bill Powell has successfully managed on average $35M in revenue per year in information technology systems. With this knowledge, at the VT Group, Bill will focus on the Department of Defense, Homeland Defense, Intelligence Community, and Commercial opportunities.

In his past experience, Bill oversaw Estimating Services Directorate and Mission Services Directorate while achieving Goal Plan revenue and Gross Booking targets. Specifically, his experience includes preparation of information technology pricing and proposals, technical writing, In Progress reviews, Estimate at Completion financial reviews, Aging reviews, Pipeline report, IDIQ task order support, and strategic planning support. In addition, Powell has held overall accountability for Operations with P&L responsibility. Bill, an Army veteran, is BICSI RCDD certified with many leading manufacturer certifications.

Sarah Lemn

Vice President, Business Development Operations and Integration

Sarah Lemn serves as VT Group’s Vice President, Business Operations and Integration. Sarah is a results-focused proposal and business development executive with more than 14 years’ experience in full life-cycle business and proposal development; implementing operating standards, corporate restructuring, and strategic business growth.

Sarah is a graduate of Christopher Newport University and received a Master of Public Administration and an Executive MBA certificate from Old Dominion University. She is certified by the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) and the American Management Association.

Prior to joining VT Group, Sarah served as President at Chenega Professional & Technical Services, LLC (CPTS) and Time Solutions, LLC, two 8(a) Small Disadvantaged small businesses wholly owned by the Chenega Corporation. In these positions, she set strategic direction for daily business activities, drove new business proposals, expanded into new customer areas, and maximized revenue opportunities. Before taking leadership roles within the Chenega Corporation, Sarah worked with a number of small and large businesses supporting their strategic and transformational growth initiatives in the Federal Contracting industry.
